I would very much recommend Butterfly Lodge. You will be welcomed warmly by staff and by the owner Govinda in person. The accommodation is roomy and clean and has a colonial feel to it. It's close to the main shopping street, but in a quiet corner. It's near to restaurants, supermarket & cashpoint and the lake is within walking distance. Butterfly Lodge supports and is closely involved in the Butterfly Day Care Centre for very young, needy children or toddlers and offers an opportunity for young people to volunteer there by helping care for the children.

“It was definitely the best hotel we stayed in Nepal. Staff was very friendly and helpful and location was perfect - near the lake and main street, lots of shops and restaurants near by. As it's a bit away from the main street, it's also more quiet. Breakfast was included and tasty (tea/coffe, omelette, fried vegetables, 2 toast, butter and jam). Good value of money.”

 

 

Great property. Just a few minutes walk to lake road. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room clean and comfy. WiFi good. Breakfast was good in the Indian restaurant.... they also had a Chinese restaurant on site. Great value for money. You can book all sorts of trips with the staff at the reception office. It was great.

“Great location, staff very helpful and big rooms. A friend recommended this hotel for us to stay at. I stayed here a total of 5 nights and my mother 8 nights. We were picked up from the airport and left our luggage there while we went hiking. Returned after our hike to have a well needed hot shower. The rooms are big, clean and comfortable.
